Circus

We took the girls to the Circus. Aubree was so excited. We told her a week before we went and she counted down the days. She loved telling everyone how many days we had left before we went to the Circus. She actually talked the whole two hours. She asked where are the elephants and tiger, she told us that the clowns are so funny, and it just never stopped. They were both sick but you wouldn't of known because they never complained and never took their eyes away from the events. It was a great experience. Aubree cried when it was over because she didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay there forever. We told her that we would take her next year. She is still talking about it.

Christmas Tree Burning

We started burning our real Christmas Trees about five years ago. It is now our a family tradition. This tradition is really for our husbands, because it seems that any guy loves to burn things :) The festivities take place at my parent's house. Of course, it was not cold outside when we decided to burn the trees, but we still had a good time.

New Year's Eve

All of my family was out-of-town for New Year's Eve. Andrew, Meredith and Pey were in North Carolina and my parents were in Oklahoma. Ryan and I passed on the North Carolina trip and my parents invited the girls and I to go with them to Oklahoma but I passed on that trip too. I just don't think the girls would of enjoyed the long car rides and plus I just wanted to sit at home and relax. We had a great week but missed the family. Since we were home alone for New Year's Eve, the Palmer's adopted us for the holiday. We went to their house and they had a bonfire. The girls were able to have a little hay ride with me pulling them in a wagon full of hay. It was that much fun for me but they loved it. Laci didn't like the fire much but Aubree enjoyed throwing sticks into the fire. We left the Palmer's at 11:30 p.m. because the girls were tired and on the way home, Aubree had to use the restroom. We rang in the New Year with Aubree peeing in a parking lot. Ryan and I had a great laugh :) I can't believe it is 2009.

Chrstimas Day

This Christmas season has been so enjoyable. Aubree now understands the meaning of Christmas and of course, Santa will bring her presents if she is good or rocks if she is bad. All month long, we have been sing Christmas songs with Aubree. She loves Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I think she sang this song about a hundred times a day. She enjoyed telling everyone that if they were bad they would get rocks from Santa. We didn't have presents under our tree until the Saturday before Christmas. I wrapped the presents when Aubree and Laci were sleeping and of course, when they woke up Aubree wanted to open the presents. She asked to open them every day up until Christmas about 12 times a day. So when Christmas Day arrived, she woke up and asked if she could watch a movie. We told her that today was Christmas and that we could open the presents that were under the tree and go see what Santa brought us. She was so excited! We came out to the living room with her and she went running to Santa's gifts (Santa does not wrap his presents at our house) and she had to dump out her stocking right away. Laci was still sleeping so we had Aubree wake her up. Laci did not like Santa and if we mentioned that he was coming to our house, she would freak out. She could cover her eyes and start to cry. We made sure Aubree didn't mention Santa's name. When the girls were done playing with the toys Santa brought, we started opening the presents. Aubree got the hang of opening the presents fast and when she was out of presents she wanted more. The best present of all was their play house from Grampy and Merdie. They LOVE it!!! Ryan had to take the front door off the hinges and half of the play house roof off to bring it into the house. I think it is going to stay an inside because the girls practically live in it. I did not take a lot of pictures of them opening their present because we videoed it, so I only have a few of them playing in or around the play house.
